Hosted by the Department of International Cooperation of MOST and organized by Fujian Science and Technology Exchange Center, the 2013 Workshop on Animation Technology Development and Application for Developing Countries was closed in Xiamen on 27th October. Eleven trainees from six developing countries attended the closing ceremony.
During the twenty-day training, the trainees systematically studied the development and application of practical animation technology, and got to know China’s scientific and technological development and national conditions from officials of the International Cooperation Department of MOST and Fujian Science and Technology Department. The organizer also organized trainees to visit well-known animation companies in Fujian, launched on-the-spot teaching and hold exchanges between trainees and technical personnel of enterprises as well as relevant experts. All the trainees attended the Sixth Xiamen International Animation Festival and a symposium centering on the Development and Cooperation of Animation Industry in Developing Countries.
Fujian is a province with strong animation industry. In 2011, there are 7 animation companies whose revenue exceeded 100 million RMB and over 20 companies whose revenue exceeded 10 million RMB. This workshop is conducive to integrating animation technology resources in Southeast China and promoting cooperation on the development and application of animation technology between China and developing countries.
