Second Meeting of China-Israel Technology Innovation Joint Committee Held in Israel

 

On October 24th 2013, the Second Meeting of China-Israel Technology Innovation Joint Committee was held in Tel Aviv, Israel. The meeting was jointly hosted by Mr. Xu Chaoqian, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department of MOST and Mr. Avi Hasson, the Chief Scientist of Israeli Ministry of Economy.
At the meeting, Mr. Xu, Deputy Director General and Mr. Avi Hasson, the Chief Scientist introduced separately the progress of technology innovation cooperation after the first meeting of the Committee one year ago. The two sides recognized the role of Chinese and Israeli enterprises in pushing forward technology cooperation and showed their satisfaction on the cooperation results.
The meeting made a summary of the second round of China and Israel Industrial R&D cooperation Program, confirmed the industrial technology projects to be supported in 2014 and exchanged views on the orientation of cooperation, priority areas and ways of cooperation in the next phase. The meeting reached a consensus on building China-Israel Science and Technology Innovation Parks in Changzhou, Guangdong, Beijing and Fujian, encouraging enterprises of both sides to attend ILSI Bio-Med, Israel High Tech Imdustry Assocation Conference and Annual Meeting of the Chief Scientists, China-Israel Seminar on S&T Innovation and Cooperation and B2B Meetings, as well as reducing barriers of S&T cooperation between the two countries' enterprises.
During the visit to Israel, Deputy Director General Xu also held meetings with Mrs. Ilana Lowi, Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space and Dr. Avi Perl, Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. They also exchanged views on scientific, technological and agricultural cooperation between the two countries. The two sides agreed to launch the programs of China-Israel Joint Research Project in early 2014 and confirmed the priority areas and scale of China-Israel Joint Research Project on Agriculture.
