MOST signed an MOU on leather technology joint lab with Ethiopian Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) and two MOUs with Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture respectively on technical task force (TTF) cooperation and international TTF innovation park on November 25, 2013 under the witness of Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen. In compliance with the MOUs, the two sides will build a joint lab on leather technology to support the long-term and stable S&T cooperation between research institutes, and help Ethiopia strengthen leather technology through joint research, talent cultivation and policy guidance. In terms of TTF cooperation, China will send experts and entrepreneurs to provide policy advice, technical guidance and skill training, share research findings and promote TTF in Ethiopia based on Ethiopia‘s needs. By building the innovation park, China will help Ethiopia realize whole-process mechanization in staple food production, and implement a comprehensive agricultural pilot project which integrates plantation, cultivation, processing and recycling, thus helping Ethiopia establish international agricultural TTFs.
