On June 5, 2014, Minister Wan Gang met with Dr. C. D. Mote, President of American National Academy of Engineering, who came to China for the International Conference on Engineering Science and Technology 2014 (ICEST 2014).
Minister Wan gave a snapshot of conducting the mid-term evaluation of the National Medium-and Long-Term Program for Science and Technology Development and strengthening the top-level design of S&T system. Dr. Mote presented relevant projects American engineering world conducted to deal with major global challenges and promote public understanding of S&T engineering. The two sides were willing to strengthen communication and conduct cooperation on issues of common concern in S&T engineering for the benefit the two peoples.
Mr. Cai Jianing, counselor of the Department of International Cooperation also attended the meeting.
