On April 13, 2016, a delegation led by Mr. Yury Saprykin, Vice President of Russia’s Skolkovo Foundation, and Mr. Morogin, Science and Technology Counselor at the Russian Embassy in China, paid a visit to the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center (Torch Center).
An Daochang, Deputy Director General of the Torch Center, welcomed the delegation. He reviewed the technical cooperation between the Torch Center and the Skolkovo Foundation in the past five years, and looked back a series of technology projects jointly carried out by China’s high-tech parks like Z-Park and their Russian counterparts under the MOU signed between the Torch Center and the Skolkovo Foundation.
Mr. Saprykin gave a detailed account of the 33rd IASP World Conference to be held on September 18-23, 2016 in Moscow. The conference is themed on “The Global Mind – linking innovation communities for internationalization, sustainability and growth.” All sessions and activities related to the conference will be held at three venues – the Skolkovo Innovation Center, Moscow State University and World Trade Center Moscow. The Skolkovo Innovation Center looks forward to the participation of global peers of technology and innovation. Organizers of the conference have opened a website www.iasp2016moscow.com to make it easier for interested people to get registered and attend the conference.
DDG An Daochang extended his congratulations to the Skolkovo Foundation for its successful bid to host the IASP World Conference, and gave a positive response to the Russian request of introducing the conference to more high-tech parks across China. Both sides hoped that under the facilitation of the Torch Center, more Chinese science parks will have an opportunity to showcase the rapid development of China’s science and technology at the conference.
The Russian delegation briefed the Torch Center on the progress the Skolkovo Foundation has made regarding the establishment of a representative office in Beijing. The office is mandated to introduce Russian technology firms to Chinese investors and partners and explore opportunities for joint R&D, marketing and capital investment. The Torch Center will soon contact the Russian office and introduce 15 Russian enterprises engaged in aviation & aerospace, electronic information and medical technology to China’s national high-tech parks. The 15 technology firms will visit China during the 2016 Beijing Science and Technology Week in October.
