On May 16-17, 2016, the G20 Meeting on “Innovative Growth” was held in Beijing. The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs respectively hosted three task force meetings on innovation, new industrial revolution, and digital economy as well as the joint session. More than 150 Chinese and overseas guests participated in the meetings, including those from the G20 members, invited countries and international organizations.
Vice Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Yin Hejun addressed the opening session of the Innovation Task Force Meeting. Mr. Chen Linhao, Deputy Director General of International Cooperation of MOST and Chairman of the G20 Innovation Task Force presided over the meeting and made a keynote speech. Dr. Zhao Xinli, Deputy Director General of China S&T Exchange Center (CSTEC) and Organizer of the Senior Experts Group for China Innovation Action Plan delivered a report on the G20 Innovation Forum to be held in Beijing on July 30.
During the meetings, all parties discussed outcome documents of the three task forces and reached consensus on a series of issues, laying a solid foundation for the final agreement.
