The Think 20 Innovation Forum hosted by the China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC) was held on July 30th of 2016, as part of the G20 Think Tank Summit. The Forum‘s theme is “towards a collaborative, inclusive and dynamic global innovation environment”. It enjoyed support from the China Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation; the School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University; Institute for International Strategic Studies, Central Party School of the Communist Party of China; Institute of Industrial Economics at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS); the Institute of World Economics and Politics at CASS; the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies; and the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China. Over 100 representatives from G20 members, invited countries, and international organizations participated in the Forum. They exchanged views on such topics as the ways and best practices of innovation-driven development, evaluation and forecast of G20 countries’ innovation capacities, comparative study of science, technology and innovation policies, the role of science and technology in promoting sustainable development, new industrial revolution and the digital economy, open science principles, intellectual property protection and pro-innovation culture, as well as the exchange of young personnel among the G20.
The Forum captured the attention of domestic and overseas media such as Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, Science and Technology Daily, China Daily, Hong Kong Commercial Daily, as well as online media like the Xinhuanet and the China Science and Technology Network.
