On August 18th, 2016, the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Department of High-tech Development and Industrialization organized experts in Beijing to complete the acceptance of the 12th Five-Year Plan National S&T Enabling Program “Feixiang Theater System R&D and Application”. In line with relevant regulations of National S&T Enabling Program Management Method and National S&T Enabling Program Special Budget Management Method, the expert group listened to the report of execution by the head of the project, reviewed relevant files, and watched demonstration of project achievements. Through inquiry and discussion, the expert group found that the project had accomplished the main tasks and targets as required, concluding that the project has been checked and approved.

This project basically deals with pressing needs and crucial problems during construction of Feixiang Theater of culture-themed parks. It has developed common critical technologies concerning film simulation, solid display, super sensual experience and virtual interactive entertainment and device and facilities of super sensual experience, involving technologies of independent IPRs such as heteromorphic screen projection technology, multiple projection screen patch and integration technology, real-time rendering technology, and real-time natural interactive technology; it has also developed 2D/3D video play system, real-time rendering software, theater interactive system, device of super sensual experience and control system, as well as whole theater control system, providing an all-in-one, open solution for Feixiang Theater of culture-themed parks involving all film simulation, full view display, super sensual experience and virtual/real combination It has also launched demonstration of Feixiang Theater application. The achievements include 18 items of IPRs, 9 items of software copyrights, and 15 papers published. By the end of May 2016, the electric servo powered Feixiang Theater had been awarded 12 contracts, with the total contract price hitting RMB 262.6 million. The project team of Feixiang Theater has attended a number of key domestic and foreign Sci-Tech Expo’s, including International Horticulture Entertainment Facilities Expositions in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In addition to the fruitful promotion, the project team has obtained intents of cooperation for construction projects of Feixiang Theater.
