The 11th Session of the China-Austria Joint Commission Meeting on Cooperation in Science and Technology was held in Vienna on September 26th, 2016. Headed by Deputy Director General Chen Jiachang,Department of International Cooperation of MOST, the Chinese Delegation met with the Austrian Delegation headed by Teresa Indjein, Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs.
The two sides respectively introduced S&T and innovation policies and latest developments in China and Austria, and reviewed bilateral cooperation in recent years. The two delegations reached an agreement on China-Austria S&T Cooperation Projects and Work Plan for 2016-2018 and decided to jointly identify projects in new materials, heath and environment. Both sides expressed the willingness to cooperate in areas of environment, renewable energy resources, agriculture and biotechnology in the future. Respectively on behalf, Deputy Director General Chen Jiachang and Ambassador Teresa Indjein signed the Minutes of the Meeting.
During the visit to Austria, the Chinese Delegation also met with officials from the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology and the Federal Ministry of Science about further cooperation in S&T between China and Austria.
