The 15th Session of China-Bulgaria Scientific and Technological Cooperation Committee was held in Nanjing on November 8th, 2016. The meeting was jointly presided over by Yin Hejun, Vice Minister of Science and Technology and Prof. Georgi Vayssilov, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Bulgarian National Science Fund.
The Chinese side briefed on the development of science, technology and innovation in China and its future plan, especially the reform of project management, integration between S&T progress and economic growth, and international cooperation. The Bulgarian side introduced its strategy on science, technology and innovation, the R&D management system, future goals and international scientific and technological cooperation.
The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on deepening cooperation on science, technology and innovation and reached broad consensus. The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation on the commercialization of R&D outcomes, advancing research project cooperation on a larger scale, jointly building laboratories or R&D centers and holding science and technology seminars. They also stressed the importance of expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation under the China-Central and Eastern European Countries cooperation mechanism.
The two sides reviewed the implementation of projects agreed at the 14th Joint Committee Meeting, discussed and adopted the new projects on such areas as agriculture, chemistry, medicine and material science.
The two sides also signed the meeting protocol.
