From 15 to 17 November 2016, China (Beijing) International Technology Transfer Convention 2016 co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Beijing Municipal People’s Government was held in Beijing International Convention Center. Xu Jianpei, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vice Mayor of Beijing Sui Zhenjiang, Israeli Ambassador to China Matan Vilnai, 2014 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics Shuji Nakamura, and General Manager of BAIC Group Zhang Xiyong addressed the opening ceremony.
   
With the theme of “openness in innovation, sharing for the greater good”, the convention focused on four priorities, i.e. wide bandgap semiconductor, health industry, green development and new generation information technologies. During the convention, more than 20 thematic events, including seminars, promotions and exhibitions, as well as a number of country forums were organized. Science and technology diplomats from Chinese diplomatic missions in Los Angeles, Toronto, Germany, Russia, Italy, ROK, Greece and Finland, heads of famous foreign universities, science and technology companies and institutions, and representatives of the science and technology management departments as well as higher learning institutions, R&D institutes, enterprises and technology transfer service agencies attended the conference.
