Minister Wan Gang met with Avi Hasson, Chief Scientist of the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry; and Chairman of the Israel Innovation Authority. The two sides exchanged views on how to deepen and expand cooperation in science, technology and innovation (STI) and further bilateral cooperation in the next stage.
Minister Wan Gang spoke highly about the STI cooperation between China and Israel and gave a brief account of the progress made under the framework of the China-Israel Joint Committee on Innovation Cooperation. He pointed out that both side had come a long way in building the China-Israel Innovation Cooperation Center and the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park. Efforts have been made to encourage technology transfer and B2B partnerships. MOST would like to keep a close contact with the Israeli side, push for pragmatic cooperation and make joint efforts to strengthen bilateral ties.
Mr. Hasson hailed the remarks of the Minister. He said the two countries’ STI cooperation has been fruitful in recent years and Israel would like to enhance such cooperation with China.
Also present were Ye Dongbai, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of MOST; Ding Chun, Mayor of Changzhou, and Cui Yuting, Science and Technology Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Israel.
