Wang Zhigang, Secretary of the CPC Leading Group and Vice Minister of MOST, met with the visiting Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins and his delegation on April 28th, 2017. The two sides exchanged views on Cisco’s cooperation with China.
Wang recognized Cisco’s commitment to scientific and technological innovation as well as cooperation with relevant Chinese partners in the areas of cyber security and smart city, and introduced the development of China’s high and new technology industry.
He advised Cisco to keep looking for new partners, make use of its own technological and service strengths to engage in China’s ICT development, and strengthen cooperation in areas such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and big data.
Robbins introduced the development strategy and latest progress of Cisco‘s cooperative projects in China, saying that he will actively respond to and promote China’s strategic initiatives in cyber security and education, continue to promote cooperation with China in related fields, and make contribution to the cooperation between the U.S. and China in scientific and technological innovation.
Also present were relevant officials from the Ministry, including Ye Dongbai, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation; Tian Baoguo, Deputy Director General of the Department of S&T for Social Development; and Mei Jianping, Deputy Director General of the Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization.
