On September 6, 2017, Vice Minister of Science and Technology Huang Wei met with Sudanese Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research El Tigani Mustafa Mohamed Salih, who led the Sudanese delegation to China-Arab States Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Conference 2017, in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on advancing China-Sudan cooperation in science and technology.
Vice Minister Huang Wei thanked Minister Salih for attending the China-Arab States Expo and China-Arab States Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Conference. He pointed out that the people of China and Sudan enjoy profound traditional friendship. In 2015, the two heads of state agreed to upgrade bilateral relations to a strategic partnership, providing new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in S&T innovation. Vice Minister Huang Wei briefed Minister Salih on the“Belt and Road”Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Action Plan, and expressed the willingness to work together with the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and take the opportunity of the Belt and Road Initiative to make plan for and inject impetus to the further progress of science and technology cooperation between the two sides.
Minister Salih said that China-Arab States Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Conference provided a wide platform for the parties to further carry out S&T exchanges and cooperation. The Sudanese side welcomes China‘s Belt and Road Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Action Plan and its various initiatives, and will actively participate in the relevant activities to promote new progress in regional cooperation on science, technology and innovation.
