On September 12, 2017, the 14th China-ASEAN Expo was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Wang Zhigang, Party Group Secretary and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), attended the opening ceremony of the Expo, accompanied Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli on a tour of the exhibition, and introduced the highlights of the exhibition to Vice Premier Zhang in the Advanced Technology Section.
The 14th Exhibition on Advanced Technology co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the People‘s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is one of the five thematic exhibitions of this year’s China-ASEAN Expo, and a permanent site of the Expo for the visit of state leaders. Held in the new hall of Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, the exhibition covers an area of 4,000 square meters. More than 160 exhibitors, such as BeiDou Navigation, BGI and iFLYTEK, from 22 Chinese provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions together with Thailand and Malaysia and other ASEAN countries, took 350 projects to the exhibition. The exhibition displayed many high-tech products in such areas as comprehensive health, agriculture, ecological protection, new materials, marine resources, information technology, S&T parks and S&T towns.
During the China-ASEAN Expo, MOST and the People‘s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region also hosted the Fifth Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation, and organized such events as high-level forum and matchmaking session for international innovation cooperation on traditional Chinese medicine and comprehensive health industry to facilitate the industry-university-research exchange and communication between China and ASEAN countries, and promote regional cooperation in technology transfer and innovation.
Ye Dongbai, Director-General of International Cooperation of the MOST, and Cao Kunhua, Director-General of the Department of Science and Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, attended the relevant events.
