On the sidelines of the Fifth Meeting of the China-UK High-Level People-to-People Dialogue, the China-UK Science and Innovation Cooperation Exhibition jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the UK opened in London on December 6, 2017. Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Prince Andrew, Duke of York jointly visited the Exhibition, accompanied by Party Secretary and Vice Minister Wang Zhigang of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Minister of State Jo Johnson for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation of the UK and other senior officials of several departments from both China and the UK.
21 exhibition items from more than 50 universities, research institutions and enterprises in both China and the UK were on display at the Exhibition, showcasing the achievements and interim progress of cooperation in the fields of AI, space, antimicrobial resistance, traditional Chinese medicine, health big data, future city, robotics, marine science and technology, advanced manufacturing, climate science, and agriculture. These achievements include such internationally advanced projects as brain-controlled robots, intelligent agricultural robots, climate model product-based climate service application technologies, crop health diagnostic instruments, assembled ultra-large-aperture on-orbit space telescopes, parts of advanced manufacturing materials, and forward-looking study on the commonest chronic disease of the world.
After the exhibition, leaders of both sides attended the China-UK Science and Innovation Forum: Shaping the Golden Era Together.
