On September 22, 2021, the first China-CEEC Forum for Young Science & Technology Talents was held by videoconference in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. Vice Minister of Science and Technology of China Huang Wei, Deputy Governor of Zhejiang Province Lu Shan, Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia Marina Sokovic and Mayor of Ningbo Qiu Dongyao delivered speeches at the forum. Some 200 participants from the government, universities, research institutions, enterprises and embassies of CEE countries in China and Chinese embassies in CEE countries attended the forum.

 

Under the theme of“Innovative Youth Share the Future”, and focusing on the two priority topics of“Exchange and cooperation among young scientists and technicians”and“STI helping to fight against COVID-19”, the forum aims to promote exchange and cooperation of young S&T talents, create new momentum for future development, and achieve a higher level of win-win cooperation.

 

 

Vice Minister Huang Wei pointed out in his speech that young S&T talents are the driving force of innovation. China and CEE countries share the same aspiration to promote communication and exchange among young S&T talents, strengthen cooperation in science, technology and innovation (STI), and generate new drivers for bilateral and multilateral cooperation. We hope that China and CEE countries will continue to support the Forum as an exchange platform to deepen innovation cooperation among young people, accelerate the building of a shared community of innovation, actively expand areas of S&T cooperation, facilitate broad consensus reached by young talents on pragmatic cooperation, mutually beneficial development and innovative growth, and work for greater outcomes in pursuit of STI cooperation.

 

 

On February 9, 2021, the People‘s Republic of China hosted the China-CEEC Summit by videoconference. The participating countries jointly adopted the 2021 Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries Beijing List of Activities, which included the holding of the 5th China-CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation and the China-CEEC Forum for Young Science & Technology Talents.
