On March 1st, 2022, the 3rd Sino-Malta Joint Commission Meeting on Science and Technology Cooperation was held via video link. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Director General Zhao Jing from the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Executive Chairman Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando from the Malta Council for Science and Technology. Deputy Director General Zhuang Jia from the China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC) attended the conference and joined the discussion.

 

During the meeting, representatives from both sides exchanged views on strategies and policy priorities on science, technology and innovation (STI), reviewed cooperation outcomes and experience, had an in-depth discussion on the areas of cooperation and measures to be taken in the future, and reached consensus on the plan of long-term cooperation in the next step. The two sides agreed that China-Malta STI cooperation is pragmatic and efficient. Both sides are willing to enhance cooperation and bring STI cooperation to a new level.
