On March 24, 2023, China-Montenegro Science and Technology Cooperation Committee held its fourth session online in Beijing and Podgorica. The meeting was jointly chaired by Sun Jian, Deputy Director-General of International Cooperation at the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, and Smilja Vujacic, Head of International Cooperation at the Montenegro Ministry of Science and Technological Development. At the meeting, officials from both sides briefed on the latest S&T policies, programs and the latest development in science and technology, reviewed the implementation of projects approved by the third session, and discussed the priorities for future cooperation.
Deputy Director-General Sun Jian said that China takes Montenegro as an important partner on S&T cooperation, and believes that the successful conclusion of this meeting will further promote the healthy development of bilateral S&T cooperation and expedite the economic and social development of the two countries.
SmiljaVujacic said that S&T cooperation between Montenegro and China has been progressing well, and Montenegro is satisfied with the situation now. She hoped the two countries can expand reciprocal cooperation in such areas as S&T personnel exchange and project implementation.
The meeting decided that the committee’s fifth session will be held in Podgorica in 2025.
