On May 30, 2023, Vice Minister Zhang Guangjun met in Beijing with Rene Haas, CEO of ARM. The two sides engaged in a candid and in-depth discussion on ARM‘s business development in China and the technological trends in the semiconductor industry.

　　Zhang Guangjun pointed out that the Chinese government is committed to openness, inclusiveness and reciprocity in exploring international sci-tech cooperation. He believed that ARM, as a globally leading provider of integrated circuit design solutions and intellectual property, has great development potential in the Chinese market. China hails ARM’s determination to further expand its presence in the Chinese market and encourages the company to deepen cooperation with Chinese universities, research institutes, and enterprises. The Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to provide services and support for ARM and other high-tech enterprises to expedite their development in China, work together to promote technological progress and industry development, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

　　Haas made an introduction of ARM’s business development and future plans. He said he felt it close to his heart to return to China in a span of four years, and stressed the importance of the Chinese market within ARM’s global business portfolio. He expressed willingness to strengthen communication and dialogue and integrate into China’s technological innovation ecosystem.
