On May 19, 2023, the 10th session of China-Croatia Science and Technology Cooperation Committee was held in Beijing and Ningbo via video link. Zhang Yudong, Vice Minister of Science and Technology of China, and Ivica Šušak, State Secretary at the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education, co-chaired the meeting.
At this meeting, the two ministries reported on their sci-tech development, plans and policies, reviewed the progress of projects identified at the ninth regular meeting, exchanged views on the priorities and key tasks of future cooperation, and determined the time and venue of the 11th session.
Vice Minister Zhang Yudong said that as an important part of bilateral relations, China-Croatia sci-tech cooperation has entered a stage of healthy and stable development in recent years. Under the guidance of the China-Croatia Science and Technology Cooperation Committee, research institutions and researchers from both countries have implemented cooperative projects, established sound platforms for longstanding sci-tech cooperation, and produced fruitful results. Going forward, the two sides should continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation and add new substance to bilateral relations.
State Secretary Ivica Šušak said that he is satisfied with the solid progress in bilateral sci-tech cooperation, and hopes to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in researcher mobility and project implementation.
The meeting decided that the 11th regular meeting of the China-Croatia Science and Technology Cooperation Committee will be held in Croatia in 2025.
