On July 12, 2023, Minister Wang Zhigang, met with Myanmar‘s Minister for Science and Technology, Myo Thein Kyaw, who was visiting China to attend the 11th China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Conference held in Guangxi.

　　Both sides reviewed the progress of bilateral STI cooperation in recent years, and expressed their willingness to strengthen the collaboration. They unanimously agreed to convene the second meeting of the China-Myanmar Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation at an appropriate time, enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest and promote pragmatic development of bilateral STI cooperation.

　　Dai Gang, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Science and Technology; Li Guozhong, Director-General of the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; and Sai KyawNaingOo, Permanent Secretary of the Myanmar Ministry of Science and Technology, Kyaw Soe Thein, Myanmar’s Consul-General in Nanning, were present during the meeting.
