On August 16, 2023, Vice Minister of Science and Technology Zhang Guangjun met with Kanaka Herath, the State Minister of Technology of Sri Lanka, who was in Kunming to attend the 4th Forum on China-South Asia Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation.

　　Both sides reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation on science and technology, and agreed to enhance cooperation in joint labs, sci-tech people-to-people exchanges, and technology transfer.

　　Sun Jian, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Science and Technology, Wang Rongfang, Senior Counsel of the Ministry, Wang Xueqin, Director-General of Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Wickremasinghe, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Technology of Sri Lanka, were present during the meeting.
