On August 16, 2023, Zhang Guangjun, Vice Minister of Science and Technology, met with Ashok Kumar Rai, Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Nepal, who was in Kunming to attend the 4th Forum on China-South Asia Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation.

　　Both sides reviewed the progress of bilateral sci-tech cooperation and agreed to continue communication on sci-tech policies. They also agreed to provide more channels and platforms for academic exchange between scientists from both countries, and further strengthen cooperation on science, technology and innovation between the two nations.

　　Sun Jian, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Wang Rongfang, Senior Counsel of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Wang Xueqin, Director-General of Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Pitambar Bhandari, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Nepal, were present during the meeting.
