On September 21, 2023, the 4th Joint Committee Meeting for Cooperation between China and Thailand's Science and Technology Departments was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. Vice Minister Zhang Guangjun and Sirirurg Songsivilai, Permanent Secretary of Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation co-chaired the meeting. More than 70 officials and researchers attended the meeting, who were from the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, China Science and Technology Exchange Center, China Rural Technology Development Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Department of Science and Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, CRRC Corporation Ltd, as well as the Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research(TISTR) and Thai Institute of Astronomy.

At the meeting, the two parties reviewed the progress of the work since the third Joint Committee meeting of five working groups, including people-to-people exchanges, poverty reduction, nuclear fusion, technology transfer, and rail transportation, approved the next-stage work plans of each working group, and reached agreement on the priority areas for future cooperation.

During his visit to Thailand, Vice Minister Zhang visited well-known universities and research institutes such as Chulalongkorn University, Chitralada Technology Institute, NSTDA and TISTR, and had in-depth exchanges with executives and researchers.
